First Lady Janet Holcomb spoke with a group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students from the South Bend Community School Corporation during a Zoom video conference on Thursday, May 14. Holcomb was also joined by SBCSC Superintendent C. Todd Cummings, Swanson Principal Amy Troyer, and Kennedy Academy 4th grade teacher Suzanne Bellina.

“This special opportunity allowed us to show our state’s First Lady the successes of our dedicated teachers, students, and principals, during these days of remote learning,” said Superintendent C. Todd Cummings. “I was pleased to have witnessed such a memorable moment for these students. For me, speaking with Mrs. Holcomb was an honor, and I’m thankful for her taking the time to share a bit about herself with our young learners.”

Students asked the First Lady questions about her favorite books, what she liked to watch on Netflix, and what hobbies she enjoys in her spare time. The conversation with the SBCSC students was among several Mrs. Holcomb has conducted with school corporations around the state.
