Mission & Vision Statement

Located in north central Indiana, South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) is the largest school system in St. Joseph County, and the 10th largest in the state of Indiana. Established in 1867, we are home to over 13,580 students and employ over 2,408 people.

South Bend Community School Corporation’s Strategic Plan 2026 is our commitment to fostering academic excellence, equity, and strong community partnerships to ensure every student’s success. Guided by our core values of inclusion, accountability, and innovation, this plan prioritizes high-quality literacy instruction, college and career readiness, safe and thriving schools, and financial sustainability. Together, with our families and community, we are building a future-focused, student-centered education system.
