Since its inception in 1979, our department has been dedicated to serving as a vital resource for English/multilingual learners, immigrant, refugee, migrant, and bilingual students and their families. We’re proud to support educational equity and provide personalized assistance to meet the unique needs of the diverse communities we serve.

The services we provide are centered around the following areas:

1. English Language Development programs for English learners
2. Federal and state regulations surrounding the education of English learners 
3. Providing high quality academic programs and support services for migrant children
4. Federal and state regulations surrounding the education of migrant students in 22 counties in Northern Indiana
5. Development and implementation of Dual Language Immersion programs
6. Meeting the needs of all immigrant and bilingual/multilingual students and their families
