Studebaker SNAP program and classrooms moving to McKinley Elementary

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Studebaker SNAP Program, classrooms, and the general education preschool classroom will move to the McKinley Elementary School Building for the 2024-25 school year.

McKinley Elementary School is located at 228 N. Greenlawn Ave., South Bend, IN. Parents and guardians are encouraged to note McKinley's main office phone number, which will be 574-393-3300. SNAP staff will be available to answer calls at this number after July 18th.

Current McKinley students will move to Edison, which will become a preK-8 school with a dual language magnet program. McKinley students will fill the lower grade levels at the Edison building.

Families whose children ride or plan to ride the bus to/from school will have their transportation arrangements revised to accommodate transport to/from McKinley. Pick-up and drop-off times for the upcoming year may change, and detailed times and bus numbers will be communicated in the fall. Additionally, detailed information such as each child's teacher, carline procedures, and classroom needs will be provided before the start of the school year in the fall.

The first week of school for the 2024-25 school year will commence on September 4, 2024. All program times will remain unchanged for SNAP program students.

For any questions about the upcoming school year, parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the special education office at 574-393-6119 or specialeducation@sbcsc.k12.in.us.
