Washington High School Selected to Host Regional Get Your Teach On Conference

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Community School Corporation is thrilled to announce that for the second consecutive year, Washington High School has been chosen to host the prestigious Get Your Teach On (GYTO) conference on June 27-28. South Bend is proud to be one of only four sites statewide to host this transformative summer event.

The Get Your Teach On conference is designed to ignite educators' passion for teaching and learning, expand upon current Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) initiatives to support and elevate the educator profession, and foster an environment where students are excited to attend school and build meaningful relationships.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our educators to collaborate, learn, and grow,” said Dr. Todd Cummings, Superintendent of South Bend Community School Corporation. “We are honored to host this regional conference and look forward to seeing the innovative ideas and renewed enthusiasm it will bring to our classrooms.”

Drawing teachers from across the region, the GYTO conference will provide an exceptional opportunity for professional development and collaboration. Last year, Madison STEAM Academy was one of only 12 schools in Indiana, out of over 100 applicants, to be selected for professional development from Get Your Teach On, demonstrating the impact of these initiatives.

Founded in 2016 by Hope and Wade King, Get Your Teach On specializes in professional development and encouragement for educators and administrators through conferences, workshops, and events. GYTO is renowned for its passionate celebration of teachers and their ability to inspire life-long learners. The organization hosts National and Regional Conferences, Virtual Conferences, school and district trainings, and additional events for a wide variety of educators and school administrators each year. GYTO also provides free resources, teacher-focused merchandise, and leads the worldwide Rock Your School initiative, encouraging innovative and engaging teaching methods.

“Even during the summer months, our focus remains on developing exceptional learning opportunities for our students,” added Dr. Cummings. “This conference is a fantastic opportunity to align passion and innovation with our goal of inspiring successful, life-long learners.”
