Career & Technical Education (CTE)
How CTE Works
CTE blends academic coursework with technical training. Students typically enroll in CTE classes at their high school or at centralized locations and can participate in applied learning, labs, projects, and industry partnerships that reinforce classroom knowledge. Many CTE offerings are aligned with statewide priorities through Indiana’s Next Level Programs of Study, which connect high school coursework with postsecondary and workforce opportunities.
Career Pathways & Experiences
CTE students may explore career pathways such as:
- Health sciences (including health science SEAL programs with certifications like CNA and phlebotomy)
- Skilled trades and construction
- Automotive technology
- Business and entrepreneurship
- Information technology and computer science
- Engineering and robotics
- Culinary arts and hospitality
Students can engage in real hands-on coursework and often work with community partners, internships, and local employers to strengthen professional skills and expand opportunities after graduation.
