Special Education & Support Services

South Bend Community School Corporation provides a range of special education services and supports to eligible students to help them access the curriculum and thrive in school.

Services are tailored to each child’s unique needs and outlined in an Individualized Education Program (IEP) developed in partnership with families.

Eligibility and Services

Students with disabilities may qualify for special education services under state and federal guidelines. Eligibility is determined through evaluation and observation, and services are provided in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student.

  • Specialized instruction
  • Related services such as speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy
  • Support for social-emotional and behavioral needs
  • Transition planning for post-secondary success
